The smartphone competition is getting tougher by the minute, which is why mobile phone manufacturers continue to come up with more products over time.

Samsung, one of the leading brands of smartphones in the market today, is a perfect example of companies who would not rest on their laurels. Fresh from the success of their recently released flagship phone dubbed as the Galaxy S5, reports about the upcoming new product called the Galaxy S6 is already making the rounds online.

But how can the soon-to-be released Galaxy S6 fare against its predecessor?  Here is a comparison between the present and future smartphones from the South Korean company:

Screen and Design

The Galaxy S5 comes with a 5.2-inch AMOLED touchscreen that has a resolution of 1920 x 1080, with a polycarbonate water- and dust-resistant body and textured battery cover.

The upcoming Galaxy S6, on the other hand, will also have a 5.2-inch screen but it will have a clearer 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution. It will also have an aluminum body, which is unusual for the Galaxy S product line. The future Galaxy S6 can also be submerged in water for a certain duration.

Camera

The primary camera featured in S5 has a 16-megaixel sensor. However, the future S6 release will allegedly surpass its predecessor by coming up with a 20-megapixel sensor. It will also have a better secondary, front facing camera to take better selfies.  According to reports, the Samsung Galaxy S6 secondary camera might come within the 7- to 8-megapixel range.

Other reported features

According to reports, the next installment in the Samsung Galaxy S line will have a curved or flexible glass display, wireless charging system, longer battery life span, as well as 64 GB of internal memory. These features are obvious improvements compared to the current Samsung S smartphone.

The release date for Samsung Galaxy S6 is still undisclosed, but the Galaxy S5 is readily available in the market today.
