Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime rumored specs include 2k display and finally a full-metal smartphone from Samsung

Just in case one Samsung Galaxy S5 was not enough, there is rumored to be a second in the works and sporting a pretty nice display.

The device is currently going by the name of Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime, although the name has not been confirmed by Samsung.  In fact the device itself hasn't even been confirmed by Samsung.

According to TechRadar, Indian import site Zauba has listed four units of a model by the number 'SM-G906K' as having been shipped from South Korea for "R&D purpose".

The rumored specs of this new device are a 5.2-inch display with a 2560x1440 resolution.  That would make it both bigger and sharper than the current Galaxy S5, which is just a shade smaller at 5.1 inches but with a much lower resolution of 1920x1080.

In addition to great specs, a full metal body has been floated for the Galaxy S5 Prime.  Last month rumors were swirling after a report on Korean website ETNews stating that it was already in production.

If Samsung has been paying attention to what critics and fans alike have been saying, then making an all-metal smartphone really would be a smart move indeed.

The soft faux leather backing was certainly a step up for the Galaxy S5 and Note 4 but Samsung smartphones and phablets will never, in the design department at least, be able to match their rivals like the gorgeous HTC One so long as they continue to ditch metal in favour of plastic.

It could all just be conjecture and no more though as Samsung Mobile boss JK Shin has denied the release of a "premium" version of the Galaxy S5.
