With most people tied up with the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, it may now be time to start speculating on whether there would be a successor to the Samsung Galaxy Note series.

The yet to be launched Samsung Galaxy Note 5 will not be having multiple variants according to rumors. However, the case is different for the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge will may reportedly have a successor currently codenamed "Project Zen".

For Galaxy Note 5 followers, the only update for now is that the device could come out with new processors. Samsung is said to be  currently testing units using the an Exynos 7430 processor though there is no confirmation on whether the company would be releasing units with these new components. Samsung is said to be still testing units with these Exynos processors.

Further to that rumor, there is word that the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 could come out with enhanced UHD displays (2160x3840 pixel resolution). If these are true, they could start production by August.

As far as the Samsung Galaxy Edge is concerned, its successor may very well have more light. It is reportedly codenamed "Project Zen" but the thing is that the said successor is not expected to be along the high-end smartphone niches

The Project Zen handset may come with a 5.4 or 5.5 inch Super AMOLED dual-edge curved display and will run on a hexa-core Snapdragon 808 processor. It will include an S-Pen, have 16GB of internal storage, 16MP rear camera with optical image stabilization and an 8MP front-facing camera.

For a phone that is pegged not to be a high-end variant, some of the specs mentioned for the alleged successor to the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge does seem impressive to check out. Now all that remains is to see if these rumors are true and surely there will be some consumer out there who will most likely be interested in getting their hands on one – at the right price.
