After Samsung targeted the high-end smartphone market with its powerful Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge, the tech firm is going to tighten its grip on the lower tier segments with the release of its Galaxy A8, A9 and A6. According to Sam Mobile, all three devices are expected to feature an 'all metal design', which gives speculation to whether or not Samsung is finally through incorporating inexpensive plastic exteriors to its future devices.

The website states that Galaxy A8 is only going to be available in China and is the first non-flagship smartphone to sport a 16 megapixel rear camera sensor. However, the company has not confirmed whether the rear sensor is the exact same one present in Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. The company has managed to repair business relations with Qualcomm, which is possibly the only reason why Galaxy A8 features the company's Snapdragon 615 SoC coupled with Adreno 405 GPU and 2 GB of RAM. The device also possesses a 5.7 inch screen size that is radiating a 1080p resolution, and measures just 5.9 mm in thickness.

Thanks to its large screen size, Galaxy A8 possesses a 3,050 mAh battery, which is far more compared to the 2,550 mAh battery pack present inside the Galaxy S6 duo. The handset will be running Google's Lollipop 5.0.1 update and will feature 16 GB of on-board storage. Since Samsung omitted a microSD slot from its flagship offerings, the company should make amends by allowing users to expand their storage on mid-ranged devices.

All three upcoming smartphones are also expected to feature Samsung's improved TouchWiz UX. For wireless connectivity purposes, all the information present thus far is that Galaxy A8 will feature an LTE modem.
