Samoa Joe WWE news: Will they still call him (Samoa) Joe?

Samoa Joe did make his debut as himself when he confronted Kevin Owens at a NXT Takeover special and all was made official. Samoa Joe is in the WWE (NXT).

The legendary wrestler who made his mark in the TNA and RoH scene is now under the WWE brand. In fact, the WWE even made shirts for Samoa Joe which reportedly got sold out fast, something that eventually led to the WWE signing him long-term.

But now here is a thought for the ones following the WWE scene. Could Samoa Joe be competing under a different name soon?

There are some who believe that there could be some legal issues associated with his name though such seems a bit petty for now. When the WWE hired Samoa Joe, the name is practically included.

Unless of course other companies have a hold on the name, Samoa Joe will be Samoa Joe.

Of course that doesn't mean a name change will never happen. There have been a lot of WWE wrestlers who have done that so depending on how long Joe stays, it should not be surprising if it should happen.

And if a name change does become a serious topic, it would be best to leave the decision-making part to Vince McMahon. He has been in the business for so long that this is an issue (minor as it may seem) that doesn't need that much attention.

Assuming they do change Samoa Joe's name, it could get some getting used to though being the legend that he is, would be something that would eventually grow on him and the WWE Universe.

For the benefit of those who are unaware, his real name is Nuufolau Joel Seanoa. At 36, Joe is expected to be good for a couple of more years and will most likely be elevated to the WWE main roster soon.
