Gospel singer Rory Feek just got back home from a wonderful vacation in Wyoming and Montana—a trip that wasn't something he planned since his late wife Joey was the one who thought of it.

"This past February, with snow on the ground outside her window at the little house by the Gaither pond in Indiana, Joey looked at the beautiful view from her bedside, and remembered another view that she loved. And then with her three sisters gathered around her, Joey told stories about our trips out west to the Big Sky Country," Rory recalls on his blog.

Joey showed her sisters Jody, Julie and Jessie the pictures of their adventures. They were so awed by what they saw that Joey made her husband promise to take her three sisters and their families out west this summer. Rory, who loved his wife with a passion, did not hesitate in granting her dying wish.

"Most of them had never been farther west than Illinois, and Joey wanted them to experience some of the breathtaking beauty that she and I have been blessed to experience many times over the years. For their eyes to see the beautiful things that her eyes had seen," says Rory.

Fortunately for them, their good friends Larry and Luann Black own a big cabin in Red Lodge, Montana. When they heard of Joey's wish, they offered the cabin's use for free.

While in Montana, they went to the rodeo, the Buffalo Bill Cody museum, enjoyed long walks, fly fishing, and horseback riding. But "for all the fun we had, the trip was hard on me. Hard on us all, actually," admits Rory. "We all wished that Joey was there with us. At the cabin, I would watch Joey's sisters all playing with their kids and it broke my heart to know that Joey couldn't be there to play with Indiana too. And I know that it hurt her sisters too."

Still, Joey says they carried Joey's memory bravely because they all know, deep down, that she was "smiling" down from heaven, "watching her wish for her sisters come true."
