'Rock Band 4' news: Vault 111 outfits with 'Fallout 4' DLC for free starting Dec. 8

Bethesda's latest outing "Fallout 4" is coming to the Harmonix music video game "Rock Band 4." An entire DLC inspired by the newly released open world action role-playing video game will be made available for download for free to virtual rockers starting Dec. 8.

With the add-on, the musicians in the band can dress up like the characters in "Fallout 4." The band members can don the iconic Vault 111 suit while rocking out on stage. With the blue and yellow outfit, they will be well-coordinated with one another. They can throw in a cap or a mask too.

As Polygon points out, it is quite a surprise seeing "Rock Band 4" and "Fallout 4" fused together, knowing that the games are very distinct from each other. This is why a "Fallout"-themed band wasn't really something players would've thought they see, which makes it great.

But just how did this collaboration come to life? "I've been a Fallout fan since the beginning," Harmonix CEO Steve Janiak said via IGN. "Playing some of the amazing songs in our Rock Band catalog with a band of Vault dwellers is something we think you'll find is crazy fun," he went on to say.

Meanwhile, songs by Van Halen recently dropped in "Rock Band 4." The DLC contains six songs and costs $10. Those who do not want to get all the songs can shell out $2 for each song. The tracks include:

  • "Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love,"
  • "Hot For Teacher"
  • "And the Cradle Will Rock..."
  • "Dance the Night Away"
  • "Runnin' with the Devil"
  • "Unchained"

The Van Halen DLC is now available. Gamers in Europe, however, will have to wait until Nov. 26 to be able to rock out the hits.

Harmonix is also preparing a December update for fans. It will be the final update for the year. The game studio also announced that standalone guitars are now available for $99.99.
