The Reel to Real Film Festival, the first Christian Film Festival in the UK, will kick off 2-5 November in Motherwell in Scotland.
The festival is expected to become an annual event that will make an important mark in the Christian calendar.
Each evening there will be a main feature aimed at an adult audience, with a children’s programme running at the same time and a late night youth feature.
Sponsored by Life Times magazine and CCLI respectively, special sessions with presentations will be held for bookstore managers and staff, and also for pastors and church leaders.
During the festival, there will be an outreach to the local primary schools in the area, with a visit from some of the characters from Veggie Tales, a series of books and videos that convey Christian ideals to children via humorous, anthropomorphic vegetable-shaped characters.
In addition, the festival will feature the UK premiere of the latest movie from the Rich Christiano company, Unidentified. The new movie has just opened in theatres in the United States.
While negotiations for another UK premiere showing are ongoing, the full schedule of showings at the festival will be released on 15 September.

At long last we breath a sigh of relief that we as christians can stand up and shout the message of salvation even through the well wornout and pulverised medium of film. Filmmaking in this country has previously had its roots in the Christian faith ethos for example the creation of The Rank Film Organisation was initiated by J Arthur Rank whose vision was evangelism at its core.Of course this has become lost in the money making millieu that seems to characterise film making in the world today. I believe that christian film making can be celebrated in this country at a grand scale even in the larger cities such as Birmingham, London, Manchester and others. I am grateful to God for putting a vision in your hearts to celebrate British Christian film making in Motherwell Scotland in November. I pray for a very successful event and may God protect you all in your efforts. May I ask you to pray that God will inspire others in London to create a London International Christian Film Festival event that by joining hands we may set the world of film alight in this country with the message of the gospel through and in film.To be a light and salt in the industry of british film making.
