'Real Housewives of Atlanta' news: Apollo Nida says 'I need to see my children'; Phaedra Parks explains herself

Apollo Nida is serving his eight-year sentence at a Kentucky prison for being convicted of identity theft and fraud. Last Sunday, in a surprise call, Nida vented that he hasn't seen his children ever since he went inside.

In the season finale of "The Real Housewives of Atlanta," Nida made a surprise call to Peter Thomas and Cynthia Bailey from prison.

He said, "I still haven't seen my children. I need to see my children."

Thomas immediately felt bad for Nida, who had been confiding in him before he went into prison. He told Nida to stay strong because the kids will need him someday.

Thomas then asked if Nida already knew about Phaedra Parks filing for divorce. His answer showed how angry he was but accepted that he can't do anything about it.

"She definitely told me through e-mail and I've gotten word from everybody else, so [expletive] it! What can I do? Maybe you'll talk to her," he told Thomas

There's no doubt that Thomas and Bailey felt compassion for Nida, as well as the fans who have been watching the season. However, it seems like Parks cannot be unnerved by what Nida had said.

She explained, "Kentucky is not a hop, skip and jump from Atlanta. He's at a place where they don't even have a nursery ... it's a no-win situation."

She also added that she's in a very difficult situation as she needs to decide whether to take the kids to visit their father in prison or not.

Meanwhile, Nida told Thomas that he will take some prison classes so he can be closer to Atlanta, which really showed how much of an effort he's making to see the kids.

It is no question that Thomas and Bailey might talk to Parks about this in part 1 of the reunion. Hopefully, there won't be any physical brawls this time around.

"The Real Housewives of Atlanta" Reunion Special Part 1 airs Sunday, April 26, at 8 p.m. on Bravo.
