"Pokémon GO" is undoubtedly one of the hottest games out now for mobile. However, only iOS and Android users get to enjoy the AR title. Speculations say that Windows Mobile fans can also get in on the action soon.

According to MS Poweruser, a Windows phone version for "Pokémon GO" has been requested by fans, and a petition for developer Niantic to release the version has already gathered more than 88,000 signatures. Meanwhile, a third-party app may soon come out, from ST-Apps.

In the proof of concept gif that the industry follower posted, it shows that the app bears some similarities in the map feature for "Pokémon GO" in Android and iOS versions. However, the app is shown off as a bare-minimum version of the original, since it lacks the augmented reality feature of "Pokémon GO."

Meanwhile, the developer has yet to confirm if the third-party app will come out soon. Reportedly, ST-Apps feels that Niantic will encrypt the connection with servers soon (it remains unencrypted), and in doing so will open copyright issues with third-part apps.

Having no version for Windows phone users is only one of the issues with "Pokémon GO." Although the game has had tremendous success since its release, there are a number of concerns that cropped out because of the overwhelming response to the game. Some players report of game crashes, while Niantic and Nintendo has revealed that the servers they have set up for the release can barely keep up with the number of players. Because of this, the global launch of "Pokémon GO" slowed down, with other regions still waiting for the release of the official app.Meanwhile, there are also other issues with the release of the game, ranging from some players trespassing on properties that show Pokémon (especially the rare ones), to more serious accidents happening while players are on the app.
