PHOTOS: Launch of church-backed community launderette

The Reverend Steve Wild, Chair of Cornwall Methodist District, and Bishop Tim Thornton unveil the plaque at the launch of the Camelford Community Launderette. The project was started by St Thomas's Church, Camelford, after some of the mothers in the mums and toddlers group revealed to the vicar that they did not have the space in their own homes for washing machines and needed to take two buses to the nearest launderette.
The launderette will be run by two part-time managers and a team of volunteers
Much of the funding for the project came from the East Cornwall Local Action Group, part of the Local Action for Rural Communities Programme, a European Rural Development Programme for England (RDPE) and DEFRA Programme
