"Penny Dreadful" is undoubtedly one of the most intriguing TV shows today. It has a supernatural plot set in the Victorian Era. The season 1 just ended, but the series will definitely return next year. Season 2 marks a new adventure and spells new trouble for the characters.

Recently, Reeve Carney, who plays Dorian Gray in "Penny Dreadful" had a talk with TV Line. He discussed the season 1 finale and revealed very little about the upcoming season.

Carney shared that the season 1 finale will "leave you wanting more... which is a good thing." He also said that Gray and Vanessa Ives, played by Eva Green, might continue their rare connection. "I think that he's drawn to her in a way that he's not drawn to anyone else. Even from the first meeting, there was something there, something unique."

"I would say that they're [Gray and Ives] disenfranchised from the world around them," Carney added. "More so than even any of the other characters. There's something about those two particular characters; there's a sense of liberation and freedom that they tend to walk in that I think unites them in a way."

It could be seen that in the season finale, Miss Ives decided to end this "rare connection" with Gray. According to Enstarz, it was because their connection "unleashed something inside of her which put everything and everyone at risk." Miss Ives didn't refer to the demonic possession she experience, but said her decision looked final.

Gray was hurt and confused. He couldn't understand why Miss Ives chose for them to be apart. Surely, the romantic link between these two will be further discussed in season 2.
