"Orphan Black" came back triumphantly with its season 3 premiere, and the second episode appears like it won't let the growing momentum die out. "Transitory Sacrifices of Crisis" will finally reveal what the Project Castor clones are up to and why they are hunting the Project Leda clones.

The previous episode showed Sarah on the trail to rescue Helena while Cosima appeared to be getting better. Fans of the show will recall that Cosima has started to show the same illness that befell Katja. The episode also showed the return of the Castors and now, their menace comes front and center in episode 2.

According to the official synopsis of the second episode, the male clones are after the females in order to extract original tissue samples. The synopsis states that the Castors are out toying with a woman named Patty. In doing so, they unknowingly let Sarah and Art get closer to them.

Sarah speculates that the Castor clones might be sick, just like Cosima. However, despite the similar problems, it does not look like the Castors are willing to cooperate in order to devise a solution. Instead, they want to work on their own science project.

Episode 2 will also give some of the spotlight to Helena. The promotional trailer hints that the pregnant clone might encounter a Castor clone and will be "examined" by a new villain in the series. A previous trailer for season 3 shows one of the Castor clones peeking into her prison, so he might be the new villain or someone working for the mysterious enemy.

According to the IBTimes, the episode won't entirely focus on new problems and new villains. Sarah will be reunited with Cal while Paul makes his return in the series.

"Orphan Black" season 3 episode 2 "Transitory Sacrifices of Crisis" is scheduled to air on April 25 on BBC.
