The first season of "One Punch Man" wrapped up last December, and fans are wondering if a second season is not far behind.

The anime series, which is based on the digital manga remake of the original Japanese webcomic, has charmed viewers all around the world with its humor and action-packed episodes. Anime lovers can't help wondering about the hero's fate following the season finale, which aired on Dec. 20.

In the finale, the epic fight between Boros and Saitama was so violent that it resulted in Boros losing an arm while Saitama found himself on the moon. Eventually, Saitama won the fight, and Boros admitted that he does not have the same skills as the hero.

Meanwhile, Amai Mask blamed the S class heroes for destroying the city, but Metal Knight came to the rescue as the parts that he salvaged from a ship were used to rebuild headquarters. In the end, both the A and S class heroes were asked to stay in the new headquarters.

For now, a second season has yet to be officially confirmed, but manga creator Yusuke Murata is reportedly working to make this happen. According to Kpopstarz, Murata took to Twitter on Dec. 14, saying that he will do all he can to make "One Punch Man" season 2 a reality and that fans should not be surprised if the series gets renewed.

One commenter on a Reddit thread thinks that season 2 won't happen as the Japanese author of the webcomic, One, is focusing more on another comic called "Mob Psycho One." User DedIndeed said that Murata's manga still has one to two years to catch up with the original, so One doesn't necessarily feel any pressure to hurry and he can concentrate on a series that he feels inspired to work on.

"But if One doesn't write another story arc or finish ['One Punch Man'] before manga catches with original...I really doubt season 2 will happen," the Reddit user continued.

There have been speculations that it might take six to nine months for the second season to be finished. If the rumors are true, then the second season of "One Punch Man" could premiere in December 2016.
