As far as victories are concerned, the Christian watchdog group One Million Moms scored a pretty good one after ABC network cancelled the "The Muppets" TV series for kids.

"The ABC series 'The Muppets' has been cancelled! The comedy series lasted only one season after 1MM warned parents the new adaptation of 'The Muppets' was for adults only," the group announced on its website.

One Million Moms, together with evangelist Franklin Graham, earlier protested against "The Muppets" because the show took a huge departure from the PBS series "Sesame Street" and contained several themes that were inappropriate for children to watch.

The first season showed Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy breaking up, only for Kermit to find a rebound in an ABC executive who was much younger and sexier than Miss Piggy. Because of this, Miss Piggy contemplated having plastic surgery on her breasts and buttocks to look more attractive.

Graham wrote on his Facebook page that the two characters' controversial split did not even cover the tip of the iceberg as far as indecency was concerned, noting that the show covered "a range of topics from sex to drugs to even interspecies relationships with no subject being off limits."

"The Bible says, 'Woe to those who call evil good and good evil.' That goes for Kermit the Frog as well!" he said.

One Million Moms slammed the show for promoting a "perverted nature." It stressed the need "to get the word out to families to avoid this program at all costs."

Prior to the show's announced cancellation, the Parent Television Council (PTC) conducted a study that showed that children who watched the show were exposed to inappropriate content every three minutes and 38 seconds. The findings were based on the first four episodes of the show.

In the fourth episode, the Muppet characters even went on a drinking binge at a bar, therefore sending the wrong message to children that drinking liquor is alright.

PTC President Tim Winter is strongly encouraging parents to keep their children off "The Muppets" and instead provide them with other viewing material.
