Could British pop band One Direction be heading for a split?

Kian Egan, the former member of boyband Westlife recently told The Sun newspaper that he thinks that that One Direction will break up due to their lack of bonding.

Egan told The Sun: "One Direction would be fools to throw it away, absolute fools - and I get the feeling they will. I watch them and they don't seem to have this bond as tight as we had in Westlife - especially as they've only been together three or four years."

The 33-year-old said he enjoyed the final years with his bandmembers Nicky Byrne, Mark Feehily and Shane Filan, before splitting in 2012. Westlife was formed in 1998 as a five-member hand, but was reduced to four after Brian McFadden left the group in 2004.

"As we always said in Westlife, 'There's not one person in a band that's bigger than the band'. Respect each other and understand that it's a unit, it's not a bunch of individuals wanting to do what they want to do."

There have been rumors that One Direction could split after Liam Payne stated at the Brit Awards in February that he hasn't seen the other members of the band in months.

However, those rumors were toned down after Harry Styles said they were just taking time to visit their families and friends.

1D was formed on the X Factor in 2010 and have been a national and international succcess.
