Nokia Lumia 930 release date, price, specs, availability: June 19 release in Germany, £500 price tag in UK? Pre-orders soon

Nokia Lumia 930

The new Nokia Lumia 930 is set to be Nokia's new flagship smartphone and the first signs of its release to retail are starting to appear.

It certainly has all the elements deserving of the title "flagship", with a beautiful 5-inch full HD 1080x1920 resolution display, viewable from 180 degrees thanks to Nokia's Clearback display technology.

It'll be running Windows Phone 8.1 device, which means it will have some nice new features like the Action Center allowing users to pull down notifications, the option of including more Live Tiles in your home screen, and the Cortana virtual assistant.

And as if that wasn't enough, Nokia has packed in a 20 megapixel Pureview camera with flash, a huge step-up from the 8mp camera on the Lumia 925.  The frontfacing camera is 1.2mp and the device can film HD 1080p video.

There are also some nice additions like wireless charging, support for 4G LTE connectivity, and a 2,420mAh battery.  It's powered by a healthy 2.2GHz quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor.

And if you really want to catch your friends' attention then why not shoot for bright orange or green?!

The German website Cyberport has just listed the Windows Phone 8.1 smartphone at 599 euros with a shipping date of 19 June 2014.

There's still no sign on the official UK Nokia website about the release date for the UK market or the price, with a "coming soon" message still on the Lumia 930 information page.  Phones4U has a sign-up page for alerts on pre-order information and deals, as does Carphone Warehouse which also slates the device for availability in July.  Clove already has its pre-order page up althoug at this stage it is inviting people to sign up for notification only.

But with Nokia putting the US price tag at $599 and the 599 euros sale price in Germany, a good guess for the UK would be around the £500 mark.

The first unboxings have been hitting the web and we have to say, the display looks pretty stunning.
