No matter what our world is going through, there is one God who can provide everything we need, says Matthew West

Matthew West talks about his song "Oh Me of Little Faith" from the album Live Forever.

There are wars and injustices currently happening all over the world, and even though circumstances look bleak for countless people, Christian contemporary artist Matthew West believes that God can still provide for them and lead them from despair.

"I watch the news and I see the troubled times in our world here and also in other parts of the world," he told Breathe Cast in an interview. "No matter what you're going through, or what our world is going through, there's one God who can provide everything we are in desperate need of, peace, hope, love, strength, and faith."

The four-time Grammy nominee just released his new album called Live Forever, and there is a song from the album that is especially relevant to what is happening in the world.  It speaks of conquering fear and maintaining hope amid riots, natural disasters, and senseless deaths.

Every song on the new album is inspired by somebody's true story, explained West. Six years ago, he came up with the idea of being a "storyteller" and sharing people's stories to the world. He has heard thousands of stories and translated these into songs, and the most prominent stories he hears seem to deal with pain, heartache, weaknesses, and mistakes.

West said that his new song "Oh Me of Little Faith" is actually a "fitting encouragement" for people who are feeling lost and wrought with troubles. It is an honest song that is a broken person's cry to the Lord, and its lyrics go: "Lord I believe, but help my unbelief cos trust and fear are fighting and I'm somewhere in between."

On his Facebook page, the singer also noted that there is a huge difference between living in the moment and living for the moment, and what truly defines moments is a person's faith in God. "In Christ you're not limited by today - both you and your story can live forever," he said.
