Speculations suggest that Google is planning a full-scale flagship release for its Nexus 2016 devices. Reportedly, the tech giant will be launching a refreshed 2016 edition of its Nexus 7 tablet, along with at least two new Nexus phones co-engineered by HTC.

According to UberGizmo, Google is already set to include a new Nexus 7 in its flagship launches for this year. However, the Nexus 2016 manufacturer is still unconfirmed, as Google has yet to come out with details on its new slate. The industry follower says that both Asus and Huawei are being rumored to make the 2016 Nexus 7 tablet. Asus taking another stab with the Nexus 7 design and build is certainly plausible since the tech manufacturer enjoyed success with its previous Nexus 7 tablet back in 2013.

Meanwhile, Huawei taking the reins for a Nexus tablet project can also happen, since the China-based tech conglomerate has proven that it can be a successful Nexus manufacturer with the launch of the Nexus 6P.

It is rumored that since Google is planning to take unveil the newest Android N platform, the mobile OS will need launching vehicles to showcase its new features. Reportedly, aside from a new Nexus 7 tablet, a 2016 lineups of at least two Nexus smartphones are also in the works. Speculations suggest that Google has tapped HTC to be the maker of the 2016 Nexus follow-ups.

TechRadar surmises that Google will also launch two new phones this year, like what it did with the Nexus 5X and 6P flagships last year. While the tech giant has yet to make an announcement, two new Nexus phones with a late 2016 release is plausible since the Android N platform's full version is also said to come out by either August or September. Meanwhile, HTC has reportedly signed up for a three-year contract with Google, leading to speculations that the Taiwan-based tech manufacturer will be the one to build the 2016 Nexus phones.
