Nexus 5 2015 (2nd gen) release date rumors; New Google handset with OS?

The Nexus 5 2015 is not official, at least not yet. Google has yet to say a word or two about the alleged successor to the original Nexus 5 device released back in 2013 but rumor mills are suggesting that the tech giant will likely make the announcement soon.

Google's latest venture called the Project Fi Wireless Service will be introduced in next to no time along with a new operating system. And Google fans know the drill. When a new OS build emerges, a new Nexus handset follows and they find no reason the pattern will change.

Of course, there are still no details about the Nexus 5 2015's specs but with speculations that LG will be Google's partner in making the handset, it is highly expected that the new Nexus offering will mirror the specs of the latter's flagship, the LG G4.

This means that the Nexus 5 2015 may feature a Quad HD IPS Quantum display set to render 2560 x 1440 pixels. LG will also likely leave most of the LG G4's goodies under the hood. This means that the Nexus handset will have 32 GB storage onboard as well as a micro SD slot for storage expansion.

Needless to say, the Nexus 5 2015 should make use of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor for power and a 3000 mAh battery unit for life. The imaging department will be composed of a 16-megapixel shooter on the back and an 8-megapixel camera on the front. The device may also include the color spectrum sensor for the former.

There are also rumors that Huawei will be helping out Google with the Nexus 5 2015 by making a low-end version of the device. LG, on the other hand, will take care of the high-end flavor of the handset.
