With Google's annual I/O Conference scheduled for next month, speculations suggest that the industry giant have a few surprises for its fans, including a showcase of a new lineup of Nexus flagships.

Rumor has it that Google is planning to highlight the 2016 I/O Conference with a showcase of Android N, the company's upcoming new platform. Meanwhile, although a version is already available for some of the current-gen Nexus products, the Android N platform released by Google is only a developer preview. In order to draw out the full potential of the new OS in next month's event, Yibada says that at least two new Nexus flagship phones will also be showcased, running a full version of Android N.

According to the industry follower, speculations suggest that Google has tapped HTC to be one of the makers for the 2016 Nexus phones. Given the success of the tech manufacturer's recent HTC 10 launch, it can be expected that the next Nexus phones will have some HTC-like input and design, while maintaining the signature Nexus specs.

Meanwhile, reports have said that Huawei applied for a trademark of the "7P" tag, leading to rumors that the China-based tech manufacturer is also one of the makers of the 2016 Nexus lineups. While it is still unconfirmed, Huawei being a Nexus 2016 manufacturer is certainly plausible, as the company is behind the success of last year's Nexus 6P flagship. There are also talks that Google has included Huawei as a tech manufacturer of a possible Nexus 7 tablet, and that Huawei plans for the refreshed 2016 edition of the 7-0-inch tablet to be an above-average device, rather than the signature entry-level, budget-priced iterations from previous generations.

Google has yet to confirm any of these rumors, and given that the 2016 Google I/O Conference is only weeks away, fans will have just a bit longer to check out if the speculations are true.
