The New York Jets and the Kansas City Chiefs will face off in one of five games taking place in the late afternoon for Week 3 of the NFL regular season today. The game takes place from Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City and has a scheduled start time of 4.25 p.m. ET. The New York Jets bounced back from their season opener loss in Week 1 by overcoming the Buffalo Bills on Thursday Night Football in Week 2.

It was a high scoring game but the Jets held on to claim the victory 37-31 and secure their first win of the season and move to 1-1.

They will want to build on that win with another today, but they come up against a Chief team that will be desperate to clam the victory themselves.

The Chiefs won their opener, but succumbed to the Houston Texans in Week 2, losing the game 19-12.

The way in which their offense was so effectively shutdown by the Texans will have been a concern, and they will be hoping that they can get back to basics today and put some more points on the scoreboard against this Jets side.

Earlier this week, Thursday Night Football saw the Houston Texans travel to the Gillette Stadium in Foxborough to take on the New England Patriots.

Going into the game both teams had won two from two, and with the Patriots having trouble in the quarterback position, many analysts had penciled in the Texans as favorites to maintain their 100 percent start to the season.

However, from the start the Texans found the going too tough, and the Patriots completely shut down the Houston offense. Such was the efficiency of the New England defense that the game decided well before the end of the game.

Many had wondered how rookie Jacoby Brissett would do in his first NFL start, but Patriots fans need not have worried, as he recorded a 27 yard touchdown run and put on a performance beyond his experience.

LeGarrerre Blount also scored runs of 1 yard and 41 yards, to help the Patriots secure a 27-0 win and record their first shutout win since 2012. It was the first time the Texans have been shutout since 2003.

The 23 year old rookie quarterback was rarely put under intense pressure by the Texans, despite Houston having the third ranked defense in the league coming into Week 3.

Brissett ended the night 11 of 19 for 103 yards, as well as running the ball eight times for 48 yards.

Brissett said after the game: "It was crazy. It was awesome. Definitely great to see all the players just run up to you. I got a headache from all the head bobbing and head bumping. But it was definitely worth it."

Meanwhile, Houston quarterback Brock Osweiler said, "I felt like we had a great week of preparation, very focused. The game plan was solid and we worked hard. So this is hard to take. But the bottom line is that New England had a great game plan. They deserve all the credit. But we'll bounce back from this one."
