Need For Speed 2015 game reboot news: release date and features

EA (Electronic Arts) Entertainment made an appearance on E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo) 2015 for a preview of several of its games, including the new installment for its Need for Speed franchise. The game developer and publisher also announced that NFS 2015 will be shipped out to the US market on November 3 of this year for multiple platforms which includes PC, Wii U, 3DS, Xbox and PS4. This is prior to the UK release on November 5.

During the game presentation, EA remarked that it would be bringing twenty years of history together for the definitive Need for Speed experience. "That is the new Need for Speed. Inspired by some of the most beloved games in the series; from the customization of Underground, to the world of Carbon, to the narrative style of most wanted, to the innovation and visuals of Rivals.", said the designated EA presenter after the game teaser was shown.

"Pulling on our 20 years of history and then, taking a year out from releasing a game, we are making the game we've always wanted to. We're listening to the fans and delivering an experience that will capture their imagination and unleash their passion for cars and speed," said Marcus Nilsson, executive producer for Ghost Games, a development studio of EA. Nilsson also noted that Need for Speed is one of the most iconic names in gaming that the company is "returning it to greatness" in the game reboot that's coming with Need for Speed 2015.

Staying true to the reboot, the new NFS installment will feature five ways of playing the game; Speed, Style, Build, Crew and Outlaw. Speed will focus on putting the pedal to the metal, style will be on precision and drifts while build is for customization and performance. Crew is a new feature, which puts the player in a team that will always ride with him/her. Outlaw, on the other hand, lets the user mess with the law and get chased around by cops; "living a life on the edge." The company encourages the combination of all five to achieve what PC Advisor dubbed as the "perfect moment."

The coming NFS 2015 was also announced to come with a deluxe edition, which will have additional content that will incorporate styling and performance packs, a loaded starting car, exclusive stickers, wraps and icons, as well as discounted in-game purchases, which the company promised to be a lifetime guarantee. Of course, the extras will mean more. The regular game package for PC is at $44.86 on Amazon while the deluxe edition will sell for $54.99 on Origin. As always, the console package costs more; prices start at $49.85 for both Xbox and PS4. Note that the game will take up at least 36GB.
