The hottest NBA trade rumor to date is Rajon Rondo's supposed talks with the team over at Oklahoma City.

According to reports, the contract of the Boston Celtics guard is now in its final year, and he is currently being linked to teams left and right.

Yet it seems that Rondo's camp has set its eyes over in Oklahoma. Based in an interview conducted by CelticsBlog for NBA analyst Sean Deveney of Sporting News, the deal will most likely push through. Daveney said, "The Thunder could be one to watch. They have pieces to shed in a sign-and-trade, and a Russell Westbrook-Rondo backcourt would be fascinating. Might not work financially, but it's a possibility."

However, this is purely based on Deveney's speculations and no official confirmation came from either Rondo's reps or the OKC Thunders yet. However, the analyst is confident that this could work since Celtics and Thunders can come up with something under the cap support.

Rondo, with an average of eight assists per game and a championship ring to boot, is one of the most sought after point guards in the NBA today. He is also among the top five best active point guards, according to DimeMag.com. Because of this, it will be hard to let the opportunity of acquiring a talented player like him just pass by.

However, if the deal with the Thunders will not push through, Rondo can allegedly have the option to play with the New York Knicks.

According to FanSided, Rondo's presence would definitely help the Knicks win. It would be exciting to watch him play alongside Carmelo Anthony, J.R. Smith, and the rest of the team.

Yet Rondo's departure from Celtics could be a big problem for the team. Without the likes of Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, and Kevin Garnett, Celtics is only relying on Rondo to win the game. If the season will start without him next month, then the team should find a person to do his job.
