The New York Knicks may add NBA All-Star power forward/center Chris Bosh to their roster for the 2016-2017 NBA season.

Rumors about the acquisition of the 32-year-old Miami Heat veteran began when it was reported that team president Phil Jackson is planning to add another power player to the team after they got point guard Derrick Rose and center Joachim Noah from the Chicago Bulls.

However, Bosh continues with his battle with his health problems that he has been dealing with for the last two years.

During the 2015 NBA All-Star Games, Bosh was diagnosed with blood clots on his calf which moved to one of his lungs. This caused him to sit out the rest of the 2014-2015 season. He tried to return to the team last season, but his condition returned and made him miss out on Heat's last 29 games.

If the trade deal will be a success, Bosh will get to play with the new Knicks coach Jeff Hornacek, as well as the other new team members Courtney Lee and Brandon Jennings. Their combined skills will further help Carmelo Anthony and the team's up and coming star Kristaps Porzingis to bring the team to the playoffs.

Meanwhile, Miami Heat coach Erik Spoelstra told Sun Sentinel that he is not worried if he also loses Bosh after the departure of their shooting guard Dwayne Wade.

"We feel we have defensive-minded players," Spoelstra said. "It starts with a defensive player of the year candidate in Hassan Whiteside, somebody that can defend the rim. There are some things that will never change with this organization which is our expectation to win and our expectation to compete for an NBA championship regardless of who we have in this uniform."

Other rumors claim that the Knicks are also working to get Sacramento Kings small forward Rudy Gay, who will join the free agency market after the 2016-2017 NBA season.
