Pablo Escobar (Wagner Moura) will meet his end in "Narcos" season 2. Moura recently opened up about the fate of the drug kingpin on the show with The Hollywood Reporter.

"We all know what's going to happen to Pablo Escobar," Moura said. "I felt like when I finished the first season, I had to finish [the series]... It's like accomplishing a mission," the actor went on to say.

During his appearance on "Chelsea," Moura also teased that down to Escobar's death, the drug lord will be absconding.

As seen in the previous season of "Narcos," Escobar was incarcerated, but he won't let any prison stop him and lock him up. However, his attempt to free himself will mark his demise in "Narcos" season 2.

"It's all about Pablo on the run," Moura told host Chelsea Handler. "It's from the day Pablo escapes to his death," the actor added.

Even in the social media accounts, Netflix reveals that "Narcos" season 2 will mark the end of Escobar. Images with the words "Pablo dies" on a pitch-black background are all over the show's Facebook page.

Now that everyone is expecting the death of Escobar to happen in "Narcos" season 2, it boils down as to how the show will handle the scene.

"Escobar had a photographer who was with him and there are incredible photos taken by DEA agent Steve Murphy at the time of his death," executive producer Eric Newman told AFP.

"We've recreated the actual death scenario based on those pictures so it's as close as we can be," he went on to say.

Moura also teased in his THR interview that "Narcos" season 2 will be much better and "more prepared" in terms of character, production and script.

It is unknown if the show continues beyond "Narcos" season 2 with Escobar's death. EW says that the show might be in an anthology format, with upcoming seasons potentially putting other drug kingpins in the spotlight.

"Narcos" season 2 premieres Sept. 2 on Netflix.
