Motorola seems to be doing a pretty good job at keeping details about the Moto X (2016) under wraps -- that is, if the rumored device actually exists. So far, very little is known about the phone. Nonetheless, many are still speculating when it will come out and what new features it will offer.

This is because since the Moto X series was started by Motorola back in 2013, it has gained avid followers of its own. The phone series has generally received positive reviews especially with its design and build, and the next-generation device is expected to offer nothing less.

So far, the Moto X (2016) is rumored to be carrying Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 chipset. A leaked photo of the rumored device surfaced not too long ago and showed the internals of the alleged phone. Based on the picture, the cooling system of the smartphone will be handled by an L-shaped heat pipe. It is best guessed the new smartphone's screen size may range from 5.4-inches to 5.7-inches, but is unlikely to go below the 5-inch mark, as Androidpit reported.

Another image of the Moto X (2016) surfaced online. This time, it shows the back-end side of the phone, which prominently shows the stereo speakers at the bottom. It also shows what could possibly be the volume rocker on the left-hand side (right-hand side during the normal use of the phone). The Motorola logo seems to be etched on the silver-colored body and not stamped.

Another set of photos were leaked online last month, courtesy of hellomotoHK, and it shows several front and back covers of Lenovo and Motorola phones, believed to be the Moto X (2016). Know Your Mobile reported that that the current generation's interchangeable back cover will still happen with the future phone.

It is also rumored that the Moto X (2016) will have a 3GB RAM, fingerprint scanner, QHD display, an Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system. And since Motorola is now owned by Lenovo, it is reported that the Motorola brand will be phased out. However, rumor has it that the "M" logo will be left behind as it stands for Moto.

With regard to the released date, Motorola is known in the industry for not having any pattern in releasing its products. Many analysts are actually stunned by it, but they are speculating a summer or fall release. The phone is also expected to be within the $400-$450 price range.

Motorola fans are expecting more information to come within the next few months.
