Motorola's third generation Moto G could be well on its way to debuting sometime in September.

According to the International Business Times Australia, with its release of the second generation Moto G last September, Motorola is likely to double down on its previously established timeline and have its newest model available by the same month this year as well.

Previously unconfirmed reports said the third generation Moto G would be released earlier this year, with a launch window around June or July as the likely dates, but that no longer appears to be the case.

If the third generation Moto G is indeed released in September, most industry insiders are suggesting that the new phone will likely be unveiled at this year's IFA. Motorola has yet to confirm any official release date for the newest Moto G.

In addition to the release date of the latest Motorola phone being leaked, the specs of the device have also begun to surface online. The third generation model is said to be fairly similar to its predecessors, with the most significant difference being its new 64-bit architecture.

As for more specifics on the device currently given the codename "Osprey," according to Techno Buffalo, prospective owners may expect it to have 16GB of RAM as well as 8GB of of storage. The third generation Moto G is also expected to feature a 13 megapixel rear camera paired together with a 5 front-facing camera.

The device's software specifics have also been leaked, with most outlets saying it will feature the latest Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system.

According to Forbes, the currently known specifications of the third generation device could lead to it being incapable of supporting the newer apps being released.

For now, Motorola has also yet to offer official word on the leaked specs, and the company could possibly be working towards improving them prior to the launch.
