The hit fighting game "Mortal Kombat X" was released last year, and the title launched two downloadable content (DLC) packs which gave gamers four new characters to play with. All in all, there are currently eight new characters that can be played aside from the initial character roster. That is, until the upcoming new DLC pack "Kombat Pack 3" is released.

According to Game N Guide, reports are saying that the co-creator of the game — Ed Boon — gave his Twitter followers a teaser on what to expect for "Kombat Pack 3." Initially, he posted a meme that made fans excited about the possible release of the DLC pack. Aside from that, other versions of the game will also be released, which will include "Mortal Kombat XL."

As of the moment, there is still no assurance as to the specific release date of the "Kombat Pack 3" DLC for "Mortal Kombat X." However, there are speculations about the DLC's delay, which point out that the game's developer — NetherRealm Studios — is currently hard at work on another game, "Injustice 2." As such, it can be expected that the "Kombat Pack 3" DLC will have its release date revealed once the second "Injustice" game is done and launched.

Meanwhile, Christian Times reports that the "Kombat Pack 3" DLC will introduce four more characters to the game's official roster. The characters that could be added via the new DLC pack include Baraka, Fujin, Noob Saibot, Rain, and Sindel.

As fans can remember, each of the characters has their own interesting background stories. For example, Baraka is a crossbreed between the denizens of the Outworld and the demons of the NetherRealm. Currently, he is the servant of the Great Emperor Shao Kahn.

Finally, it is possible that the "Kombat Pack 3" DLC could feature characters from outside the "Mortal Kombat" game. Regardless, more updates will be posted soon, and as such fans should just stay tuned.
