"Mortal Kombat X" has already welcomed Kung Lao in the still incomplete roster. In a video released by Mortal Kombat Community, the hat-donning Shaolin monk is seen in action along with Outworld princess Kitana, who makes her glorious return as the tenth addition to the warrior lineup. The lovely royalty exposes her deadly warrior side in a gameplay trailer that shows how her razor blade weapons chop up unfortunate opponents to death.

Kitana, with her one-piece swimsuit on, was introduced in "Mortal Kombat II" way back in 1993. Now, her costume was made more sophisticated and apparently more menacing. The trailer ends with Kitana splitting Kano's head, which is only as insanely gruesome as the fatality moves each of the characters have. The 10,000-year-old Edenia native has three fearsome variations as well.

In the same gameplay trailer, Goro is also shown. NetherRealms is making the redoubtable four-armed monster a playable character for those who pre-order the game. According to GMA News, "Mortal Kombat X" will come with an online component where gamers can join any of the new five factions, namely White Lotus, Lin Kuei, Brotherhood of Shadows, Black Dragon and Special Forces. As they play online, gamers will contribute points to their chosen bloc.

The new "Mortal Kombat" installment is set 25 years after "Mortal Kombat 9." In turn, new characters will be gracing the battlefield. One of these is Cassie Cage, who made it to the news just recently for her unnoticed resemblance to UFC fighter Felice Herrig. The 30-year-old kickboxer and mixed martial artist herself discovered and eventually shared the unspoken fact by posting a photo on her Instagram account showing a picture of herself alongside one of Johnny Cage and Sonya Blade's daughter.

"After thorough investigation I think it's safe to say #MortalKombatX definitely used my likeness for the video game character #cassiecage," Ferrig captioned the said photo.
