Monday Night Football preview: Ravens vs Lion to close out NFL Week 15 [ESPN start time details]

Monday Night Football this week will feature the Baltimore Ravens and the Detroit Lions in what should be a fantastic game to close out Week 15 of the regular season. Both teams still have postseason hopes, but it is now coming down to the wire with only a few weeks of the regular season remaining, and it is do-or-die time for both teams.

Tonight's big game will start at 8.40 p.m. EST and will be broadcast live on TV on the ESPN network. Alternatively for those who have a subscription to ESPN, it is possible to catch the game online through the network's exclusive live stream, which is provided via the link below.

Today's big game will feature quarterback Joe Flacco facing off against Matthew Stafford. That should be a fantastic match up of two of the best performing quarterbacks in the NFL this season. Flacco is 290 of 488 for 3,238 yards and 18 touchdowns, where as Stafford is 306 of 525 for 3,976 yards and 27 touchdowns. Both will believe they have the skills to drive their team to the victory tonight, and with the end of the regular season looming, now is the time for them to deliver.

The Ravens are 7-6 and second in the AFC North and could still technically overturn the Cincinnati Bengals. The Detroit Lions meanwhile come into this game second in the NFC North having fallen to 7-6 after some bad form at the wrong time of the season. The Chicago Bears are now top of the division with an 8-6 record – however, the Bears can tie for first with a win today.

Today's match up is very much one between a surging team and a struggling team. The Ravens have won their past three straight games, and even though a month ago they looked well out of the playoff reckonings, they are now on the fringes with an outside hope.

The Lions are going in the opposite direction, and a month ago most would have been happy to pencil in the Lions for a postseason spot, but now they are looking in danger of falling out, and they will need to win today to keep their own playoff hopes alive. The Lions had started the season 6-3, but have lost three of their last four games. If they win today though they will technically regain the top spot over the Bears, and should still be in the driving season to make the playoffs.

This should be an evenly fought contest and it could go either way. The game will start at 8.40 p.m. EST and can be watched online on ESPN by clicking here.
