Monday Night Football between the Dallas Cowboys and the Chicago Bears will be a massive clash to close out Week 14 of the NFL. Both teams need to win to optimize their playoff chances, and neither will want to give a yard in today's big match up.

The result on Sunday between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Detroit Lions strongly suited the Bears. The Eagles' 34-20 win means at the moment the Eagles have sole possession of the top of the NFC East with an 8-5 record.

The Cowboys come into this clash on 7-5, and because the San Francisco 49ers also won on Sunday, as it stands, Dallas are looking from the outside at the NFL postseason picture.

However, it is clear what they have to do to remedy the situation, and a win tonight on the road to Chicago would put them back into the playoff positions. A third straight win for them tonight would lift them all the way to the No. 3 spot in the NFC.

Meanwhile, the Bears will have enjoyed Sunday, with the Eagles giving them a big foot up by defeating the Lions. That means if the Bears can win today they would move level with the Lions on 7-6 with just three weeks of the regular season remaining.

The Bears must grab this opportunity and come out of their slump, which was sparked when they lost quarterback Jay Cutler to injury a month ago. Since then they have won just one game in his absence. With Cutler out again for tonight's Monday Night Football game, they must snap that bad run of form, and repeat their victory over Dallas from last year where they forced 5 turnovers from the Cowboys in a 16 point victory.
