Game developer Mojang has confirmed that the popular game Minecraft is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PS Vita in August.

According to the developer's website, the most loved game will be heading to brand new consoles this summer. The developer went on and apologized for the delay and explained that the company took the development of the software seriously.

The company also revealed the prices to upgrade the open-world sandbox game. There is no need to purchase another game version. Players just have to upgrade the current software. For example, owners of "Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition" can upgrade to "Minecraft Xbox One Edition" for $4.99. This promo is open until the launch of the Xbox One port.

The upgrade fee for "Minecraft PS3 Edition" to "Minecraft PS4 Edition" is also $4.99. The one year limit was also implemented on the PlayStation console. Currently, the upgrade is only feasible for the digital download version of "Minecraft PS3 Edition". However, Mojang announced that the company is working with Sony Computer Entertainment for a viable solution for owners of the disc version of the game, which was released in Europe and North America this month.

Lastly, PS Vita will also get its own version of the Minecraft game and will be part of the cross-buy initiative. This means that gamers who bought the digital download copy of "Minecraft PS3 Edition" will get the downloadable handheld copy of the game for free. Again, Mojang is working on a way to have the same offer for gamers who bought the physical disc version of the game for PS3.

The fee upgrade benefits the players by getting bigger worlds compared to the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions. The aforementioned promos aim to increase the sales of the said video game in consoles. According to reports, "Minecraft PS3 Edition" and "Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition" have sold over 13.5 million copies combined. Players benefit from not having to pay full price for a new game. It is easier on the gamer's wallet.
