'Mass Effect 4 Andromeda' news: game more lifelike with Physical Based Rendering and DirectX 12?

Bioware is making some necessary changes to "Mass Effect Andromeda," which reports say received both positive and negative feedback from gamers upon the initial unveiling. Developers over at the game studio are apparently busy with fixing levels in the game so as to keep the game up to grade.

Ever since the fourth "Mass Effect" title was made official, not much about the game has been revealed and fans could only rely on social media for info as this is where several people connected to the development of the game tweet updates about the title.

Level and tech designer Jos Hendriks recently tweeted about how significant what he called the "connective tissue" is in a mission or level. He compares the importance to the "setpiece moments and scenes" so expect "Mass Effect Andromeda" to feature these elements in a "convincing" way.

Meanwhile, Electronic Arts technical Director on Frostbite Johan Andersson revealed via Twitter that the upcoming game is being developed with Physical Based Rendering, a technique that seems to work hand in hand with the Frostbite engine.

With this, the characters and worlds in the game should almost be lifelike. The technique does wonders in objects and elements in the game, making them look more photorealistic. This should make "Mass Effect Andromeda" visually mind-blowing.

While on the subject of going for realistic, there's also the question of whether or not the upcoming action role-playing third-person shooter video game will take advantage of the power of the new DirectX 12, a spanking new breed of 3D graphics that should make the game look extra good.

Frostbite Principal Technical Director Stefan Boberg says that DirectX 12 is already part of the said engine but he has no word if "Mass Effect Andromeda" will be the game to break new ground with the graphics cog.

"Mass Effect Andromeda" is expected to release sometime next year.
