Casting Crown's lead singer Mark Hall is recovering well post surgery, and his wife Melanie has come up with a list of things she is very thankful for.

On the band's Facebook page, Melanie wrote that she is "thankful to be home, thankful that Mark's health is improving more and more every day, and thankful that God brought these two men into our lives: Dr. Scott to find the cancer in Mark's body and Dr. Lee to kick it out."

She gave thanks to their children for trusting God throughout the ordeal, and to the rest of their family for standing by them the whole time. She is also thankful to their church family for bringing food to their home and the hospital, taking care of their children, writing cards and constantly sharing words of encouragement.

Melanis is also grateful to Christian music artists and industry friends who encouraged them and prayed for them during concerts, and to millions of people they don't even know who generously prayed for them.

"We are reminded once again that God is also walking with us. He has not left us alone as some may believe," she said.

Melanie quoted Bible verses Isaiah 43:2-3 and Isaiah 54:10. The first one says, "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the LORD, your God, the Holy One of Israel your Saviour."

The next verse says, "'Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,' says the LORD, who has Compassion on you."

She explained that God does not guarantee a carefree life. But even so, He promised to accompany Christians throughout their most difficult journeys.

"Even if the mountains are shaken, or the very foundations of your life - your health, your children, your marriage, your ministry, or your job - feel as though they are crumbling underneath you, His unfailing love will not be removed," she said.
