Manchester United vs Chelsea live stream free: Watch online English Barclays Premier League soccer

Manchester United vs Chelsea takes place on Monday night in the English Premier League with both teams knowing they are facing potentially their greatest rival to the EPL title this season. This will be a big game and a perfect game to get the season well and truly underway for both sides.

The game kicks off at 8 p.m. BST (3 p.m. ET) and can be watched online through free live stream via NBC Sports through the link provided below.

Chelsea have got off to the perfect start to the season with two wins from two and they sit atop the Premier League at this early stage of the marathon season. However, Manchester United have only played one game so far, which they won 4-1 away to Swansea. If United win today they will go top of the league and also have a match in hand over the Blues.

United will know how important it is to gain a win here at Old Trafford. To that end, United manager David Moyes must decide whether to include Wayne Rooney in his starting line-up or not. There is obviously a certain amount of friction there as Chelsea have very publicly been attempting to sign Rooney from the Reds.

In team news for United, Rafael (hamstring) is out for a month, Nani (groin), Ashley Young (ankle) and Javier Hernandez (hamstring) are all also not expected to be involved today.

For Chelsea, David Luiz is a doubt after suffering a hamstring problem and he may miss tonight's match.

This will be Moyes' first game in charge of Manchester United at Old Trafford since taking over from Sir Alex Ferguson, and he could not have been handed a more difficult task. New Blues boss Jose Mourinho will be loving the fact that this fixture has come up now – as Chelsea are away the pressure will be firmly on Moyes and United, and if Mourinho can get a win today it will immediately put the United boss under pressure.

Last season Chelsea came away from Old Trafford with three points after claiming a 1-0 win. However, United came to Stamford Bridge and stole the three points there in a 3-2 victory.

There will almost certainly be goals tonight, as in the 42 Premier League games between these two teams there have only been three goalless draws – in 1995, 1998 and 2007.

The spoils have also been almost evenly split between the two teams with United winning 13 of the 42 games, Chelsea winning 14, and there also being 15 draws.
