Dwayne Johnson, otherwise known as "The Rock" has stirred rumors once again that he will indeed be appearing in the upcoming "Man of Steel 2" sequel.

Dwayne Johnson "The Rock" hinted numerous times that he will be taking on the role of the Green Lantern. Although no announcement has been made by Warner Brothers yet, Johnson initially sparked rumors last year by tweeting images with the production company. He even confirmed that he will be working on a Warner Brothers/DC Comics project, but didn't state specifics.

And recently, Johnson told Comic Book Resources in an interview: "So, you know, there's been mutual interest with myself and DC for many years to find the right character. I, like everyone here in the room, love superheroes. So there's been mutual interest with us for years, and we've been having ongoing discussions, myself and DC, for years about the right character, what the right character would be. That's another thing, too: It had to be right."

After the interview, the 41-year-old tweeted: "Myself & DC have agreed on a character.. extremely complex, well known (but never played) and a pure BAD ASS MF;) #RockTalk .@ThomasEspin"

He followed up with: "Green Lantern (John Stewart) and Black Adam are my fav superheroes, but GL's already been made and stamped. #RockTalk @CFitzyy"

Meanwhile, MTV recently asked Jesse Eisenberg, who has been cast for the role of Lex Luthor, whether he would be shaving his head off for the role. He answered, "Oh, I'm not allowed to say anything about anything for the next six years. I haven't called my mom back in months."

The Batman/Superman movie will see the return of Henry Cavill as Superman/Clark Kent. Amy Adams will reprise her role as Lois Lane, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, and Laurence Fishburne as the Daily Planet's Editor-in-Chief Perry White. Gal Gadot will star as Wonder Woman.

The Man of Steel sequel will be directed by Zack Snyder and has been scripted by David S. Goyer.

The release date of Man of Steel 2, aka Batman vs Superman film, has been pushed back from its original date of July 17, 2015 to May 6, 2016.
