Although "Major Crimes" has experienced a slight decrease in viewership over the years, it is still one of TNT's most watched shows. After being in the bubble for quite some time, it has been confirmed earlier this year that the network's popular crime-drama is returning for season 6, which is said have a 13-episode run.

As to what is in store for the fans in the next season, there is a possibility that Gus (Rene Rosado) and Rusty's (Graham Patrick Martin) relationship will see its end, according to a report on Christian Post.

In the previous season, which ended last month, Gus had wanted Rusty to move to Napa Valley with him, even picking a university where the latter could continue his studies, but Rusty refused as he wanted to graduate from UCLA and make his adoptive mother, Sharon (Mary McDonnell), proud with a diploma. Viewers saw them agreeing to a long distance relationship during the season 5 finale, but many fans seem to think that the two will not be able to work it out and will eventually break up, considering how Gus can be too controlling over his partner. This new long distance setup is speculated to foreshadow the breakup that is about to happen.

On the other hand, as previously reported, Winnie (Camryn Manheim) will not be making an appearance for a while in the next season, since her reign of terror has ended in season 5. While it has not been confirmed when she will return or if she will return in the future, show creator James Duff has revealed that she will not be as threatening the next time she shows up.

Cast members Mary McDonnell, Tony Denison, G.W. Bailey, Raymond Cruz, Michael Paul Chan, Phillip P. Keene, Kearran Giovanni, Graham Patrick Martin, and Jonathan Del Arco are all set to return for "Major Crimes" season 6. It is expected to air in June, but the network has yet to make a confirmation.
