"Madam Secretary" season 2 premieres  Oct. 4. Titled "The Show Must Go On," the season opener will see Secretary of State Elizabeth McCord and her husband National Security Agency operative Henry getting extra busy.

In a sneak peak of the premiere shared by Yahoo, Henry is busy with a new task, which, unfortunately, does not excite him in the least bit. It involves changing the allegiance of a Russian student, who is immensely loyal to his homeland.

The new assignment was given to him by his new NSA handler Jane Fellows, a character that will debut in the "Madam Secretary" season 2 premiere. She will be played by "Crossing Jordan" star Jill Hennessy.

"I think [there's going to be] a little bit of headbutting, because it's an odd relationship, to be brought into the world of intelligence and just how that works," series creator Barbara Hall told Yahoo about Henry and Fellows' dynamic in the new season.

Hall further explained that while Henry knows the value, he will still find it a bit strange to be enmeshed with an odd situation such as this, "just adjusting to what the nature of the relationship is with people you work with in a job where you have to keep secrets and have secrets kept from you."

Meanwhile, the "Madam Secretary" season 2 premiere is also made pretty special with Morgan Freeman both directing and starring in it as the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. The Academy Award-winning actor also serves as the show's producer.

In an interview with CBS News, Freeman says that it was "intimidating" joining and having to direct an ensemble that has become solid after working together for a year. In a USA Today interview, he said that he helmed the episode by "[staying] out of the way" for the actors to do their magic and not tell them what to do.

"Madam Secretary" lead star Tea Leoni said that during the brief directing stint of Freeman, she realized he was "charmingly playful" and "really fun."
