Fans are expecting that Apple will be coming out with a refreshed lineup for its MacBook flagships, and a 2016 edition of the MacBook Pro is among them. However, with an Apple launch event already done in March, the rumored new Apple laptops have yet to make their appearances.

According to speculations, Apple may be targeting this year's WWDC event to finally unveil a new MacBook Pro. GamenGuide surmises that Apple will highlight the 2016 WWDC with at least two new MacBooks, since the MacBook Pro is said to only appear after unveiling a refreshed 12-inch MacBook.

The 2016 WWDC will be held on June 13-17 in San Francisco.

Meanwhile, Yibada says that another hint of a 2016 MacBook Pro coming soon is the price discount for the current MacBook Pro lineup. At Best Buy, the 13.3-inch model's price has been slashed off by as much as $300, as the 8-GB RAM and 256-GB storage variant currently sells for $1,199.99. The original price of the laptop is $1,499.99.

Apple may be hinting that it will need to have the stocks of the current-gen MacBook Pro dwindle to minimum inventory numbers, since the upcoming iteration will have top-tier upgrades and a number of improvements. According to speculations, the 2016 MacBook Pro edition is set to feature a chipset from Intel, and may even be their latest generation processors. Furthermore, the GPU pair is supposedly the Nvidia lineups, as well as AMD units. The 2016 model will retain the 13- and 15-inch display models, but will reportedly line up a 12-inch model too. All the iterations will have the Retina display setup, and may offer more than five million pixels. Design-wise, the new MacBook Pro will have a slimmer profile due to USB Type C ports, as well as Thunderbolt 3. In addition, it is said that the new iterations will be lighter than the present lineup.
