The Marvel Cinematic Universe is on Netflix and comic book fans can't wait to see Marvel characters Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage in action, as all three characters star in their own TV series on the streaming service. While "Daredevil" premiered its first season last April and "Jessica Jones" will be aired sometime this year, more details have been revealed about "Luke Cage" — specifically, it's main villain, Luke's love interest, and the show's plot.

It has been previously reported that Luke Cage, to be played by Mike Colter ("Million Dollar Baby," "The Good Wife"), will first appear on "Jessica Jones" as the heroine's ally and love interest this year. But according to Heroic Hollywood, the superhero will have another love interest in his own show and her name is Reva Connors.

According to the website, Reva is a friend of both Luke and his childhood friend, Willis Stryker. She will reportedly be the object of the friends' rivalry and they will have a falling out of sorts, which will lead to Willis framing Luke in a drug deal which will get him imprisoned.

As for Willis, his descent into villain territory will ultimately turn him into Diamondback, and he will be the series' main villain. It's likely that the show will feature the bad blood between the two, which means a lot of action scenes that fans will surely enjoy.

Heroic Hollywood was also able to get a plot synopsis from a source close to production, and the website reveals that Luke, a former gang member who is framed for a crime, will volunteer for a medical experiment while he's in prison. The experiment doesn't go as planned, and Luke emerges with "super strength and bulletproof skin." Luke escapes and becomes "a hero for hire."

"Luke Cage" is slated to air on Netflix in 2016.
