Los Angeles Lakers Rumors: Nick Young to be offered to other teams

The Los Angeles Lakers may be unloading another player soon with talks of the offensive-minded Nick Young rumored to be on the trading block.

Young has faltered terribly this past season and the Lakers may be looking to trade him if any team would show interest.

Young was selected 16th overall by the Washington Wizards during the 2007 NBA draft. He has also played for other teams such as the Los Angeles Clippers and the Philadelphia 76ers before joining the Lakers in 2013.

After re-signing with the Lakers in 2014, thing went sour for the former Cleveland High School baller. Young suffered a radial collateral ligament in his right thumb and has yet to recover his usually offensive self. Compounding that further were knee problems which all but made it difficult for Young to recall his fiery form.

Aside from Young's dip on the court, his reported rift with Byron Scott is another factor that is seen behind the rumored trade. Young will thus join Jeremy Lin, another player not expected to be re-signed by the Lakers due to his stiff contract and inability to get along with coach Scott's system.

Despite these plans, trading Young may not be that easy. For one, Young is owed $16.33 million and based on his style of play right now, teams may not be ready to pick him up and pay him that much.

Apparently Young believes he ranks up there with the likes of Reggie Miller or Larry Bird. But as pointed out by head coach Byron Scott, shooting percentage-wise, Young is apparently still a long way-off.

Dislodging Young could benefit the Lakers since they would free up more salary space. But the question now is on which team would be willing to take him in.
