Former Charlton Athletic player Linvoy Primus will open the Christian Resources Exhibition at Sandown Park, Esher, on 14 May.

Linvoy is co-founder of Faith and Football, which uses football as a platform for relationship-building in communities.

Fellow members include Aston Villa's Darren Bent, Crystal Palace's Joel Ward and Julian Speroni, Charlton Athletic manager Chris Powell and former Bolton midfielder Fabrice Muamba, who collapsed in a match at White Hart Lane and 'died' for 78 minutes.

Linvoy will be at the CRE to share how the Christian message is being spread through Faith and Football.

At the same time, the event welcomes speakers, musicians and artists of international calibre like Tony Campolo, David Pawson, Adrian Plass, Marilyn Baker, Jeff Lucas and the Searchlight Theatre Company.

Event organiser Bill Allen is excited about the resources available at this year's CRE International to inspire and invigorate churches.

"Its sheer width is what makes the event uniquely beneficial," said event organiser Bill Allen.

"CRE resources local church leaders at many, many levels - from the latest in preaching aids and new pews, to cost-effective heating and custom-made sound systems."

Linvoy will be part of an Ambassadors in Sport team playing at a special charity fund-raising event, Match for a Day, at the London Soccer Dome on 7 and 8 June.

The AiS team will take on a number of teams, like the Salvation Army in Stratford and Frinton Free Church, Essex in 50-minute game slots over a full 24-hour period.
