Phil Brookes and Jon Rashbrook, of the Academy of Contemporary Music (ACM), have published their first book, Life as it could be.

They "wanted to write a series of simple studies based on their own experience that would enable readers to gain an understanding of how to draw life from relationship with God, rather than through self-effort", according to publishers Authentic Media.

Life as it could be is the first in a trilogy of books that looks at developing the understanding, application and outworking of living life as God originally intended.

Their unique writing style presents complex subjects in a simplified and contemporary way, which allows the reader to explore and consider the application of God's truth to their daily lives.

"Like completing a Rubik's Cube, we can try thousands of combinations on our own, but without an understanding of how the puzzle works, we are unlikely to find the solution," says the blurb.

"The reader will journey through an understanding of the nature and character of God, think about who he created us to be, discover our true identity in him and consider how to live life as he originally intended."

Phil Brookes is the Director of ACM, which was started fifteen years ago in his mother's garage, with a £3000 loan from the Prince's Trust. Jon Rashbrook led a church for five years, has a degree in Applied Theology, and is currently the Special Projects manager for ACM.

ACM's choir reached the semi-finals in the BBC series, Last Choir Standing.
