The LG G4 has been holding fort for the Korean-based mobile device maker, although it did make its debut way back in April. As 2015 is drawing to a close, all eyes are now on 2016 when the LG G5 is expected to succeed its predecessor with brand new features.

Information right now is a bit sketchy, although the rumor mill has come up with some interesting information from allegedly trustworthy sources.

Among them include possibly seeing the LG G5 banking on an upgraded processor, possibly a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820.

Recall that the LG G4 runs on a Snapdragon 808 rather than an 810 chipset, largely due to fears of overheating. And if rumors hold true, LG may be jumping a bit forward to that with a more powerful processor.

Aside from the processor, the camera of the LG G5 could very well be something upped a bit as well. The device will reportedly don a 20-megapixel camera with half-inch camera sensor, which is a big megapixel jump from the LG G4's 16-megapixel main camera.

It would be best to note that the alleged sensor will not come from Sony but from LG and it will reportedly be specially made for the LG G5. With the LG G4 reportedly getting positive raves from its 16-megapixel main camera, could the 20-megapixel camera improve the hype all the more?

For other features, many were expecting a fingerprint sensor to come with it as well. The bad news is it may not come with one, but the good news is an iris scanner will be used instead.

There is no official word on when LG would be releasing the LG G5, although the safe assumption is that the device may very well come out by April or before the first half of 2016 ends. Would you consider getting this phone?
