'Legends of Tomorrow' spoilers: White Canary to return in 'Arrow' before spin-off premiere

White Canary in Legends of TomorrowCW

Hawkman isn't the only superhero to debut on "Arrow" and "The Flash" before jumping over to "Legends of Tomorrow," as the White Canary (Caity Lotz) will first make her appearance in "Arrow" season 4 before she goes on to star in the upcoming spin-off series.

"The White Canary will be launched in the first few episodes of 'Arrow'," explained series producer Marc Guggenheim, as quoted by E! Online. "4x08, our typical crossover episode, will be doing a lot of heavy-lifting in terms of getting the 'Legends of Tomorrow' characters set up and also seeing where they are with relation to 'The Flash.' It's a big episode."

Sara Lance aka Canary was briefly seen in season 1 and was revealed to be one of the people onboard the Queen's Gambit when it sank. In season 2, she was revealed to be alive and now a member of the League of Assassins. She later died during the season 3 premiere for "Arrow," setting off a chain of events that pervaded through the whole season.

Reviving her in "Arrow" season 4 prior to moving her to the new spin-off series makes a lot of sense for fans and newcomers alike. It will help resolve some of the open plotlines from "Arrow" season 3, such as the rift between Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy) and their father (Paul Blackthorne).

According to a report from Screen Rant, the biggest concern is what her resurrection via the Lazarus Pit might do to her state of mind. Using the Lazarus Pit to revive Thea Queen (Willa Holland) in season 3 almost drove her insane, and that's considering she was only dead for a short period of time. Sara Lance had been gone much longer than that and it is expected that her crazed mentality will be a recurring trait in "Legends of Tomorrow."

"Legends of Tomorrow" premieres in 2016 while "Arrow" season 4 premieres this Oct. 7.
