"Kingdom Hearts 3" game director Tetsuya Nomura has provided an update on the development of the game, ending the information drought.

Square Enix has promised in the past that they will provide loads of details about "Kingdom Hearts 3" at the "right time." This time is yet to come, but Nomura at least promised that the game is "coming along steadily."

"There are new worlds in which you can run, jump... I'm very excited about moving Sora around in the wider space with his higher range of maneuverability," Nomura said as translated by Goldpanner. While there is not much to take away from that, it was implied that Square Enix is still deep into the development for "Kingdom Hearts 3."

Interestingly, Nomura also teased that next year will be a big year since it will be the 15th anniversary of the franchise.

The studio will celebrate it with the release of "Kingdom Hearts 2.8 HD Final Chapter Prologue" in January and multiplayer functionality for "Kingdom Hearts: Unchained χ"

"And in March the full orchestra world tour begins, and actually, there's something else being planned for around then that I can't announce yet," he teased.

"One way or another, I think next year will be full of chances for me to announce new information, and I will be blessed to have reached fifteen memory-filled years with all of you," he went on to say.

It is unclear if "Kingdom Hearts 3" is part of the plans, but it has been reported in the past that the game will be released around March or April next year.

If this is accurate, Nomura was referring to "Kingdom Hearts 3" about that "something else" the studio is planning. However, at the moment, there is no way of knowing for sure so fans will have to wait for official word.
