Kari Jobe and Ed Cash get to work on Not Today soundtrack

Kari Jobe and producer Ed Cash hit the studio this week to work on music for the Not Today soundtrack.

They were busy recording the song What Love Can Do.

Not Today is due to hit the screens in spring 2013 and stars Cody Longo, Walid Amini, Shari Rigby and John Schneider.

The film tells the story of Caden Welles (Cody Longo), a wealthy 20-year-old who travels to India with friends expecting a party holiday.

His hedonistic expectations are shattered when he refuses to help a starving man and his little girl, and his conscience becomes haunted by their memory.

He later discovers that the father, Kiran, has been forced to sell his own daughter, exposing Caden for the first time to the brutal reality of human trafficking.

This time, he cannot ignore the wrong before his eyes and chooses to help Kiran in his search for his daughter.

The film is being made by Friends Media, a ministry of Friends Church in Yorba Linda, California, in partnership with the Dalit Freedom Network, which is helping to educate Dalit children.

Friends Media hopes Not Today will open the eyes of audiences human trafficking and inspire them to stand up for India's Dalits, who continue to face discrimination.

Not Today executive producer Pastor Matthew Cork says: "Dalits are not considered human. They get no education. They are used and abused and have no recourse or avenues toward justice.

"There is no protection from law enforcement; no access to the courts; no political voice, no hope of upward mobility.

"Our goal for the entire movement is no small thing: to eliminate the caste system, to free the Dalits. The world needs to understand that slavery still exists.

"That even today, young children are bought and sold like cattle. That little girls are forced into the dark, illicit sex trade.

"That young boys and girls are coerced to beg in the streets, and bring their proceeds back to line the pockets of thugs who abuse them at night."
