Former bad boy and Canadian crooner Justin Bieber seems to be really sincere in turning over a new leaf after making his popular video apology, and now he just posted a picture of himself with favourite pastor Carl Lentz on his Instagram account (@justinbieber).

"Not about what you do but who you do it with. Love these guys!" he captioned the photo. It has been shared to his 22.6 million followers and has received over a million likes.

Lentz is the pastor for Hillsong New York City, a church in the heart of Manhattan. He was the one who reportedly baptised the pop singer in a friend's bathtub just last year, after a video of Bieber making offensive racist jokes spread throughout the internet.

Bieber was very apologetic for his jokes and offered a statement: "I take my friendships with people of all cultures very seriously and I apologise for offending or hurting anyone with my childish and inexcusable mistake. I was a kid then and I am a man now who knows my responsibility to the world and to not make that mistake again."

For his part, Lentz tweeted that he is amazed by the strides Bieber has taken to change himself for the better. "I hate to see people's past mistakes cause pain in the present.. I'm proud of @justinbieber, the man he is/is becoming, despite old videos."

The Hillsong pastor has been guiding Bieber's spiritual growth, explaining that he is not the singer's "police officer" but a friend. "With Justin, I tell people grace and acceptance does not mean approval. I can accept you as a human being and not approve of your actions. That's how we've been loved. We love because we were first loved," he said.

Bieber was also spotted attending Hillsong concerts with on-and-off-again girlfriend and singer Selena Gomez, as well as friends Kendall Jenner and Hailey Baldwin.
