Even with all of his fame and fortune, Canadian Christian crooner Justin Bieber seems to be unsuccessful in the love front, and has even admitted that his female conundrum actually inspired his new single entitled "What Do You Mean," which will be released on Aug. 28 this year.

"Well, girls are often just flip-floppy," Bieber explained to Ryan Seacrest about his new song during the show "On Air with Ryan Seacrest."

"They say something and they mean something else. So ... what do you mean? I don't really know, that's why I'm asking," Bieber said.

He described the song as "fun and summery," adding that he worked on the single with a guy named Poo Bear. He said it's actually very similar to his last hit single "Where Are U Now," so he's pretty sure that fans would love it.

"It's really uplifting, clear, poppy, but cool," Bieber added.

For "Where Are U Now," Bieber collaborated with DJ Skrillex and Diplo, and he has nothing but high praises for the two musical artists. "The sounds are super expensive. Skrillex is a genius. He's super futuristic and I just love his sound," he said. "So to be able to incorporate that sound with what I'm doing has been super cool because it's new and fresh. I feel like no one has done it before. I'm very excited."

The young singer's enthusiasm about his new project is quite contagious, and he proudly said this is the result of a lot of hard work. "I've been working a lot in the studio, just trying to have a consistent sound, a cohesive sound," he shared. "I get in my head a lot and I get kind of depressed because I want it to work so badly. I want people to love it. I want to inspire people. Sometimes I wonder, 'Is this good enough? Is this the direction I want to go?' I had kind of a rough week last week. I get in my head and I don't want to get out of bed sometimes."
